Advanced Therapies 2021 | Simplifying analytical testing to drive POC manufacture

Kwok Pang, COO, Autolomous, London, UK, considers challenges facing the move toward point-of-care manufacturing of advanced therapies and explains the need to simplify the complex analytical testing required to quantify advanced therapies products. He highlights that reliance on complex methods such as flow cytometry, which currently requires a large amount of operator training and experience, is untenable when moving toward a larger scale, point-of-care model and highlights the importance of process simplification and standardization, which he believes can be achieved through industry collaboration.
