Petter Björquist, PhD, VERIGRAFT, Göteborg, Sweden, outlines issues associated with transplantation, and how personalized tissue-engineered veins (P-TEV) can overcome them. Access to donated tissue and graft rejection remain major problems in the field of transplantation and P-TEV, reconditioned blood vessels derived from donated tissue, can increase availability of available tissue suitable for donation and forego the need for immunosuppressants. This interview took place at Meeting on the Mesa 2021.
