Meeting on the Med 2021 | The lasting impact of COVID-19 on the CGT sector

Stephen Ward, PhD, Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult, London, UK, discusses the potential long-term impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the cell and gene therapy sector, which saw significant advances in vaccine development, manufacture and distribution. Dr Ward highlights the flexibility of manufacturing facilities, the use of rapid scale-up technologies, accelerated technology transfer programs and collaborative working as key learnings from the pandemic that should be taken forward in the cell and gene therapies sector.
