TERMIS 2021 | How 4D printing techniques can progress

Giovanni Vozzi, PhD, University of Pisa, Pisa, Italy, provides an overview of what needs to be done to advance the field of 4D printing. Prof. Vozzi highlights the need to realistically mimic tissues, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, where detailed lung tissue can be used to study the effects of the virus on the pulmonary system. Techniques in 3D printing also need to be optimized to accurately produce 4D scaffolds. This interview took place at the 6th World Congress of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS 2021).
