Valeria Chiono, PhD, Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy, comments on the importance of multidisciplinary research in the field of regenerative medicine. Successfully regenerating cardiac tissue for cardiovascular diseases remain a major hurdle, and collaboration of experts from various field will be necessary to overcome these barriers. This interview took place at the 6th World Congress of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society (TERMIS 2021).
